Vice President-elect Senator Kashim Shettima has praised Governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, describing them as men of honor and integrity.
Shettima expressed his appreciation for the contributions and support both governors provided to the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2023 presidential elections.
Speaking at his campaign office in Abuja on Wednesday, Shettima addressed a group of Senators who endorse Senators Godswill Akpabio and Barau Jibrin as Senate President and Deputy Senate President in the 10th National Assembly.
He emphasized that Governor Wike and Governor Umahi have made significant contributions to the stability of the country and are among the best-performing governors in the nation.
Regarding Governor Wike, Shettima stated, “The Governor-General of the South-South is a man of honor and integrity.
Whatever you see is what you get as far as Wike is concerned.”
He acknowledged their positive influence on the nation and commended their dedication to the welfare of their respective states.
Shettima also recognized Governor Umahi as the best-performing governor in the South East, highlighting his integrity and honorable character.
He further mentioned that Governor Umahi initially aspired to contest for the Senate Leadership but deferred to the party’s decision.
Shettima assured the Senators-elect that he would engage with those who have not yet aligned with the party’s choices.
He expressed confidence in the ability of his principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a veteran politician, to bring them on board before the inauguration of the National Assembly.
Shettima pledged to establish positive communication with the APC Senators-elect and convince them of the importance of supporting the party’s decisions.
The Vice President-elect’s statements demonstrate his commitment to building unity within the party and ensuring a cohesive approach in the upcoming National Assembly.
