Iolo Williams’ Announcement on Twitter
Renowned ornithologist and presenter Iolo Williams, aged 60, recently took to social media to inform his fans that he will be unable to co-present this year’s series of BBC’s Springwatch.
On Friday, May 26, Iolo shared an update regarding his health situation.
In April, he underwent a stent insertion procedure, and unfortunately, this resulted in the release of a clot, causing an embolism this week.
However, Iolo assured his followers that rumors of his demise have been greatly exaggerated.
He expressed his gratitude towards his supportive friends, loving family, and the excellent NHS.
He also encouraged his co-presenter Megan and the Springwatch team to carry on without him, signing off with “Go Megan & team SW!”
Supportive Messages Flood In
Following his announcement, Iolo received numerous messages of support from his fans.
One person responded with a simple yet heartfelt message, wishing him a speedy recovery.
Megan McCubbin, Iolo’s co-host, expressed her well wishes and urged him to rest up while assuring him that she would do her best on the show.
Another individual sent a message in Welsh, saying “Brysia wella,” which translates to ‘get well soon.’
