The events that led to the fatal stabbing unfolded during an argument in southwest London, revealing the tragic consequences of their troubled relationship.
The fatal encounter took place on Lower Mortlake Road around 9.45pm, where another argument ensued, leading to Wallace stabbing Mayo before retreating home while passers-by rushed to assist him.
Forensic examination revealed traces of Mayo’s blood on the cardigan sleeve, and further inspection of the residence uncovered multiple kitchen knives, one of which showed recent cleaning.
Detective’s Statement and Family’s Grief
Detective Inspector Nicola Collins of the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command emphasized that Wallace embarked on that evening’s events armed with a knife and with the clear intention of causing serious harm to Samuel Mayo.
The tragic outcome has left Mayo’s family devastated, and while Wallace has been convicted of murder, it offers little solace to the grieving family coping with the loss of their loved one.
