President Bola Tinubu has presented a list of ministerial nominees to the 10th Senate, and there are indications that Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) with a decade of experience at the Bar, might be appointed as Nigeria’s 24th Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice.
The AGF position is unique as it is the only ministerial role directly established in the Nigerian constitution to fulfill specialized duties and is exclusively reserved for lawyers.
Notably, he serves as the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) team lead attorney for defending the 2023 presidential election result in court.
Subsequently, Fagbemi went on to establish his own law firm, Lateef Fagbemi & Co, where he has continued to excel in the legal profession.
