Conrad Iyayi, a 46-year-old man, has confessed to murdering his wife, Kathryn Harris, also known as Katy Harris, during the second day of his trial at Derby Crown Court.
Previously, he had already admitted to manslaughter.
His defense barrister, Amjad Malik KC, informed the court of Iyayi’s decision, stating that he had discussed it with his client, and Iyayi wished to plead guilty to the charge of murder.
When asked who he had killed, Iyayi responded, “My wife.”
He acknowledged the significance of coming to terms with one’s actions.
