The arrest was confirmed by the Metropolitan Police Department, which had been looking into reports that Sky Sports commentator Keane had been approached by a man in the West Stand as he made his way out to the field for his postgame media obligations following Arsenal’s late 3-1 victory.
Although the man allegedly attempted a headbutt on Keane, he did not succeed in seriously injuring the former Manchester United captain.
Micah Richards, Keane’s coworker at Sky Sports, was filmed on social media physically restraining a man.
After being led to the field, Keane continued his broadcast from the sidelines.

A 42-year-old male was taken into custody on Monday, September 4th, on suspicion of assault (ABH). “We have the man in custody,” the police reported.
Questions are still being asked.
Sky released a statement saying, “We believe the authorities are investigating an alleged assault by a member of the public immediately prior to the footage appearing on social media. Micah Richards was seen on camera attempting to diffuse a volatile incident.
We are aware of an incident that occurred during our play against Manchester United on Sunday,” said an Arsenal spokesperson. We are cooperating completely with the Metropolitan Police Department as they investigate the incident.
