Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has voiced his disagreement with Labour Party candidate Peter Obi’s statement that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo would have been a better president than President-elect Bola Tinubu.
Omokri, a strong supporter of Atiku Abubakar from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), argued that Osinbajo is not superior to Tinubu.
Omokri Questions Osinbajo’s Impact and Points to Tinubu’s Achievements
Expressing his opinion on his Instagram account, Omokri highlighted that Osinbajo has served in power for eight years without significantly improving the country.
He pointed out that during Tinubu’s tenure as governor, he successfully constructed new cities, ports, rail infrastructure, roads, hospitals, industries, and independent power stations.
Omokri emphasized the substantial progress made by Tinubu and the individuals he mentored, such as Osinbajo, Fashola, Aregbesola, Fayemi, and Akabueze.
Omokri Criticizes Obi’s Track Record and Osinbajo’s Role
Omokri contrasted Tinubu’s accomplishments with the achievements of Osinbajo and Obi during their time in power.
He claimed that the country experienced two recessions under the leadership of Osinbajo and President Buhari.
Regarding Obi, Omokri pointed out that his primary claim to fame is a beer factory, in which he had personal investment.
He also criticized Obi for saving a significant amount of Anambra state funds in a bank where he had vested interests.
Tinubu’s Management Skills and Comparison to Osinbajo and Obi
While acknowledging allegations against Tinubu, Omokri asserted that even if Osinbajo and Obi were multiplied by ten and combined, Tinubu still surpasses them in terms of managing men and resources.
Despite his personal aversion towards Tinubu, Omokri acknowledged the former governor’s achievements in governance and leadership.
