Mystery surrounds the death of a 26-year-old woman who was discovered dead in the rear of her vehicle early on Monday morning in fashionable DUMBO, Brooklyn.
A spokeswoman for the NYPD verified the woman’s identity as Juliana Malave of Brooklyn’s West 24th Street to DailyMail.com on Tuesday.
Around 7 a.m. on Monday, police were called about an unconscious and unresponsive lady who was near Adams Street and York Street.
Malave was discovered in the car’s backseat when it was parked.
The young lady was already dead when emergency responders arrived.
Police were informed by a 32-year-old guy that Malave was in the vehicle with him.
According to a report, he said that he had left her and that when he came back, the lady was unconscious.
The unnamed male was brought into police custody for further questioning but was not immediately charged, according to authorities.
The municipal medical examiner’s office is doing an autopsy to ascertain the manner and cause of death.
Yolanda Medina, Malave’s mother, created a GoFundMe page in her honour.
Although Medina said that her daughter had died on Sunday, she withheld information about what had caused her untimely demise.
“Those of you who knew Juliana, my daughter, are aware of what a wonderful sister, friend, and daughter she was.
She always put people first and wore her heart on her sleeve, according to Medina.
As her mother, I wanted to give her the memorial she deserved, but because of my financial situation, I could only afford to go to New York to say goodbye to my daughter.
“My family and I would really appreciate any assistance we can get.”
All I want is a one-day visit from my daughter so I can take her back to Florida with me.
And thank you in advance for all of your sympathies; they are very appreciated at this time, she said.
