The Defense Ministry announced on Monday that one of three Dutch soldiers wounded in a shooting outside a hotel in downtown Indianapolis over the weekend has died.

The soldier, whose identity has not been disclosed, was one of three members of the Dutch Commando Corps who were shot and wounded early Saturday morning in downtown Indianapolis following what police suspect was a disturbance outside of the hotel where they were staying, according to officials.
The government says the two other wounded soldiers are conscious.
The shooting occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. in the entertainment section of Indianapolis. The Dutch Ministry of Defense stated that the three troops were from the Commando Corps and were training in Indiana.
According to Indianapolis police, an incident between the three victims and another person or persons led to the shooting. No arrests have been made.
The Indiana National Guard reported that the soldiers were conducting training at the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center, a 1,000-acre (405-hectare) site located around 40 miles (65 kilometers) southeast of Indianapolis. The Guard stated in a statement that the center is utilized by the Department of Defense and “other allies” for training purposes.
