A woman in downtown London dies after falling from a hotel window

An hour after being reported missing, a woman in downtown London died after falling from a hotel window.

At the Park Plaza County Hall hotel in Waterloo this morning, police were on the scene and a cordon was still in place.

The woman was reportedly witnessed falling from a hotel window and was declared dead there, according to authorities.

The woman had been reported missing to police an hour prior to her passing, and the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been notified, according to the police.

‘Police were called at 23:31 on Wednesday, July 13 to concerns for the welfare of a woman at a hotel in Addington Street, SE1,’ a spokeswoman for the Met Police stated.

“Officers and the London Ambulance Service responded, and it was observed that the woman, who was in her 40s, had fallen from a window.

She expired there and then.

“Officers are assisting her next of kin and have informed them.”

“The death is not being investigated.”

‘At around 22:30, the woman had previously been reported missing from the Barnet area.

It has been reported to the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards.

Photos taken this morning from the location showed a forensic tent outside the hotel beside several police vehicles and what appeared to be medical or forensic equipment.
