The family of the late musician Aaron Carter wishes to avoid a lengthy court struggle over his fortune.
Jane Carter, the mother of the former child star, stated to TMZ that although she has yet to meet her 1-year-old grandson, Prince, she wants him to receive all of his father’s possessions since the family “doesn’t need the money.”
Jane informed the publication that she would like to develop a connection with her grandson and Melanie Martin, who presently has custody of Prince.
After Aaron was tragically discovered in his bathtub on November 5 at the age of 34, Jane urged Aaron’s twin, Angel, to submit a petition to act as administrator of his estate.
Although the “I Want Candy” singer passed away without a will, his personal property and real estate holdings, estimated to be worth around $500,000, would likely be inherited by his son in accordance with California succession rules.
Aaron’s mother desires that all of his assets be handed to Prince.
This week, Martin, who was forced to leave the Los Angeles house she shared with Aaron, also commented on the will.
“I don’t want any issues or worry with Aaron’s estate,” Martin, 30, told Us Weekly on Tuesday, adding that she doesn’t “want any bad blood with his relatives.”
“I simply want Prince to be cared for and Aaron’s legacy to endure… Whoever desires to be a part of Prince’s life may do so.
The delighted mother just celebrated her son’s first birthday and thought on Aaron’s passing.
“Happy birthday to my darling son Prince Lyric Carter,” the model captioned a video on Instagram showing old photographs with the phrase “Happy birthday.”
“Today will be difficult for me, but I know that your father is playing birthday music for you in paradise. I adore you, little son!”
As previously stated, the majority of the “Aaron’s Party” singer’s life was spent battling different addictions and mental health difficulties.
Too many individuals were involved near the end of his life. Martin told Page Six last month that they were the incorrect individuals. “There were moments when he’d say, ‘I can’t believe I did that’ or ‘I don’t want to be associated with these people,’ but he’d be easily duped.
“It was just terrible. It was a constant back and forth,” she continued. He just had no idea how to escape his troubles.
At the time of his death, Aaron was reportedly found with multiple cans of compressed air and prescription medicine bottles.
The reason of his death is unknown pending toxicology reports.
