MARIN COUNTY, Calif. — The rescue of four kayakers, including two children, who were washed out to sea in Marin County, California, was seen on camera.
Saturday at the mouth of Tomales Bay, the Marin County Fire Department sought assistance from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, according to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office.
A witness reportedly witnessed two kayaks being washed out to sea by the high surf.
Due to Sonoma County’s closeness to Tomales Bay and the sometimes hazardous sea conditions there, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office periodically lends its rescue aircraft to Marin County.
The kayakers were discovered shortly after the helicopter’s crew began searching for them upon arrival at the scene.

Two parents and two children were trapped on the western edge of Tomales Bay in their kayaks.
Due to the location’s remoteness and the heavy surf, the kayakers were put aboard a helicopter and flown to land.
