»Alexanda Kotey, the ‘ISIS Beatle,’ has vanished from US prison records«
Fox News Digital reported Thursday that the notorious terrorist and member of the ISIS cell dubbed “The Beatles,” who was serving a life sentence for the kidnapping, torture, and murder of western journalists and charity workers in Syria, has vanished from the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP).
39-year-old Alexanda Kotey was condemned to life in prison in April, after being brought to the United States for trial in 2020, following his capture by Kurdish troops in 2015.
In April, the U.S. Department of Justice stated that Kotey and his three partners participated in the “seizure, detention, and hostage negotiations” of four Americans, including James Foley, Kayla Mueller, Steven Sotloff, and Peter Kassig, as well as 23 others between 2012 and 2015.
“Jihadi George,” a native Londoner, pleaded guilty to eight charges of hostage-taking and terrorism-related offenses resulting in murder.
As of Thursday, documents indicated that Kotey was “Not in BOP custody” and that his release date was “unknown.” However, he was obviously no longer being held at Pennsylvania’s maximum-security Canaan prison.

A BOP spokeswoman verified that Kotey “is not currently in the Bureau of Prisons’ custody” and stated that his recent disappearance could have “multiple” causes.
Randilee Giamusso said in a statement to Fox News Digital, “Inmates who were previously in BOP custody and have not completed their sentence may be outside BOP custody for court hearings, medical treatment, or other reasons.”
Due to safety, security, and privacy concerns, the federal prison system does not reveal personal inmate information, as stated by the spokesman.
According to some rumors, the renowned ISIS member may also be assisting investigators with another case, though Fox News Digital was unable to independently confirm this.
Daughter of British charity worker Scot David Haines, who was personally abducted by Kotey prior to being tortured and killed, told The Scottish Daily Record that she was compelled to make inquiries with the U.S. Justice Department after realizing he was no longer traceable in federal prisons.
Bethany Haines, 24, was reportedly quoted as saying, “I don’t want to believe that he was able to negotiate lenient treatment based on his cooperation with authorities or for any other reason.”
“In the past, he was traceable, as we had access to data through the U.S. victim notification scheme, and we at least had the assurance that he was in a high-security facility,” she said, adding that his disappearance was unfair to the families of the victims, who were “left to wonder where he is.”
Haines stated that she was told by U.S. Justice Department sources that Kotey remains jailed in the United States.
