Alison Hammond, the presenter of ITV’s This Morning, has denied rumours that she and her boyfriend Ben Hawkins are engaged.
Co-host Dermot O’Leary congratulated Hammond on the news, but she confirmed the rumours were “fake news”.
Hawkins’ father had previously revealed that a proposal had taken place and that the couple was planning a private ceremony.
The couple, who met when Hawkins was employed as a gardener at Hammond’s home, have been photographed together in recent months.
