A visit to Utah may make you believe you are on Mars.
Utah’s peaks are beautiful.
Patricia Parker-Magyar
Utah is a standout state due to its five major national parks: Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, and Zion.
The terrain appears surreal. As a child, I believed the Temple of the Moon in Capitol Reef proved the existence of aliens.
If you just have time to visit one state and want to visit numerous parks, Utah is the best option.
One of the most frequented and scenic national parks in the United States is located in Maine.
Maine has a beautiful coastline.
Patricia Parker-Magyar
Maine is well-known for its lobster, sailing, and fishing, but it should also be recognized for its gorgeous national park.
Acadia National Park is home to the highest point on the eastern coast of the United States, as well as rich vegetation, rocky coastlines, and granite peaks.
I have spent numerous summers in the area, but there is still more to discover. The park includes 158 miles of hiking paths, after all.
Montana’s Glacier National Park is grossly undervalued.
Montana is abundant with fauna.
Patricia Parker-Magyar
Although many people identify Montana with Yellowstone, the state contains only 3% of the national park.
However, Glacier National Park provides a breathtaking and occasionally dangerous look of the natural terrain of the historic American West.
I had the most terrifying night of my childhood camping in Glacier with my family. A passing traveler alerted me to the presence of a mountain lion when I was 11 years old. I immediately heard its faint footprints.
Florida and the Everglades are typically disregarded.
I adored the Gulf Coast sunset I witnessed.
Patricia Parker-Magyar
As a native of the Garden State, I may have a preference for the marshes of New Jersey, but I must respect the Everglades.
The Everglades, often known as the River of Grass, is underappreciated domestically. However, there is an extraterrestrial quality to its natural beauty and wildness.
I will never forget the blazing sunset I witnessed while driving to the Gulf Coast through the Tamiami Trail in the west. As alligators fled into the bush beside the two-lane roadway, the surrounding forest and road were illuminated by an eerie fluorescent glow.
California has the most magnificent forests.
In addition, West Coast sunsets are beautiful.
Patricia Parker-Magyar
Northern California is the place to go if you want to be surrounded by lush, imposing vegetation.
The towering Parker Group in the Redwoods National and State Parks was named for my great-great-grandfather, Captain James Parker.
In addition, the network of parks features miles of coast redwoods, the world’s tallest trees.
And while Yosemite may be well-known, it is by no means overblown.
Alaska’s scenery is nothing short of breathtaking.
I like exploring the outdoors of Alaska.
Patricia Parker-Magyar
Alaska has the second-most national parks in the United States.
On a recent fishing excursion into the wilderness, I visited the Inside Passage, home to Glacier Bay. In addition, I intend to visit Sheldon Chalet to see the starlight.
Though Denali in the winter, the finest time to view the aurora borealis, is still on my bucket list, I have yet to visit.
Arizona’s national parks are notably unique.
Arizona is rich with natural splendor.
Patricia Parker-Magyar
The Grand Canyon in Arizona exemplifies the notion of a national park.
However, as majestic as the Grand Canyon is, the Petrified Forest is terrifying.
Petrified wood (the fossilized remains of terrestrial plants) constitutes a breathtakingly unusual and not-to-be-missed sight.
I adore the gloomy drama of rain-soaked Washington parks.
Washington has excellent hiking.
Patricia Parker-Magyar
The beautiful, cloud-covered peaks of North Cascades and Olympic National Park are sufficient to induce introspection in even the most upbeat traveler.
When I was 11 years old, my family intended to camp on Mount Rainier, but a blizzard sent hikers back to the base lodge. I realized at that moment that I wanted to be like those trekkers with their snow-covered boots and wet windbreakers.
I have not yet reached the summit of Mount Rainier, but there is still time.
Hawaii’s national parks are breathtaking and diverse, imbued with spiritual meaning.
Molokai is a lovely island.
Patricia Parker-Magyar
I will never forget my adventures on the Big Island, during which I traveled from the wet side of Hilo to the dry, volcanic scenery of Kona.
In addition, if you like drama, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park will not disappoint.
The majesty of Hawaii’s parks is intrinsically linked to the indigenous culture and spirituality of the island. Canoe builders say that Kpahulu in Haleakal National Park is the home of the god Laka, whom they revere.
All of Hawaii is magical, and the designated sacred or unique land is certainly breathtaking.
Wyoming is home to the nation’s earliest and most beautiful national parks.
Colter Bay in Grand Teton National Park was visited by me.
Patricia Parker-Magyar
Wyoming has 96% of Yellowstone, the nation’s first national park, but that’s not why it’s at the top of my list.
Grand Teton is, in my opinion, the most gorgeous place in America.
Take in the scenery by visiting Oxbow Bend at sunset, sunning along the beach of Colter Bay, kayaking on Jackson Lake on a bright afternoon, or going to Inspiration Point’s summit.
