Ammar Al Nuaimi chairs second meeting of Ajman Executive Council in 2022

Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Ajman Executive Council, chaired the council’s second meeting in 2022.
During the meeting, Sheikh Ammar said the Ajman Government is exerting all possible efforts to make the emirate among the best places in terms of liveability, stability and investment.
He also reviewed the outcomes of the Smart Industry Readiness Index and the Global Liveability Ranking 2021.
The meeting then discussed several reports on the COVID-19 pandemic, which include related procedures, safety requirements in school buses and the progress made by businesses.
The meeting’s participants talked about the Smart Industry Readiness Index, which is part of the UAE’s Projects of the 50, to support the country’s industrial strategies and adopt the solutions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution nationally, in addition to drafting an accurate roadmap for utilising technologies in line with the capacities of economic facilities, to increase industrial productivity by 30 percent and add AED25 billion to the country’s GDP over the next decade.
The report showed that the initial evaluation of 16 local factories was completed by a specialist international company to ensure they conform to appropriate standards and requirements and obtain one of the three seats in the country in the evaluation process of the Certified SIRI Assessor Programme of the Singaporean Government.
The report also reviewed the required outcomes for the next decade.
The council highlighted the importance of the initiative to attract foreign investment, support businesses and enable them to adopt advanced technologies.
The council’s members also reviewed the Global Liveability Ranking 2021 published by the UK’s Economist magazine, which listed the cities with the highest standards of living, totalling 141 cities around the world.
The report ranked Ajman as the third most liveable city worldwide, after Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The council then stressed the need to continue the efforts to achieve progress in becoming among the world’s most liveable cities, by focussing on initiatives that encourage investment in sports and major local and regional events and increasing the quality of local infrastructure, such as the road network and public transportation services, encouraging the establishment of cultural and artistic festivals and theatrical activities, and raising public health standards.
The council’s members discussed the safety standards and procedures for school buses to ensure the safety of students and unify the requirements covering all public and private educational facilities in Ajman while the local emergency and crisis team presented the updates to the precautionary measures and the easing of international restrictions.
The council approved the easing of pandemic-related measures in the emirate, raising the capacities of various activities, and continuing adherence to the precautionary measures.
The council’s members were briefed on the progress of proposals regarding working hours during the Holy Month of Ramadan, in line with the directives of the Federal Government and to preserve the privacy of the Holy Month in terms of practising religious activities and maintaining social ties.
