Anambra State Govt To Host 2022 Education Digitization Summit From February 24

Anambra State Government has concluded arrangements to host its 2022 Education Digitalization Summit.

The summit, scheduled to hold from the twenty-fourth through twenty-fifth of this month, is organized by the Anambra State Ministry of Basic Education in collaboration with Integral Development Konsult Learning Centre, Awka.

Correspondent Dan Ezeigwe reports that the education summit is aimed at developing real-time alternative teaching and learning models, as was used during the onslaught of COVID-19 which made classroom learning impossible.

Announcing plans for the summit, the Anambra Commissioner for Basic Education, Professor Kate Omenugha said the event is part of the present administration’s departure plans, aimed at concretizing the education legacies laid since the last eight years.

She also revealed that at the summit, the ‘One Student One Laptop’ campaign would also be launched, noting that the state is making strong engagement in Public-Private Partnerships to drive the initiative, leveraging on the reach of indigenes of the state.

On her part, the Chief Executive Officer of IDK Learning Centre, Mrs. Chinwe Nweke, who is also the chairman, Summit’s Planning Committee, said they are hoping that the conference, would engender a blueprint that would drive digital transformation of the learning process in the State.

Also speaking, the chairperson, Anambra State Basic Education Board, ASUBEB, Mrs. Francisca Obi, maintained that the summit is very important for the state to have an education system that is productive and globally-competitive, stressing that in a 21st century digital world, Anambra teachers and students cannot afford to be left behind.
