The Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim has charged the youths to imbibe life of purity and wisdom.
Most Reverend Ibezim who stated this at Saint Lawrence Church Parish, Mbaukwu, Awka South Council Area during the Re-Dedication and Thanksgiving for the Diocesan Girls Guild spoke on the theme ‘God of Impossibilities’.
Most Reverend Ibezim who is also the Bishop Diocese of Awka said the service was to present the girls before God and expose them to things that will make or mar their future as terrible things are now happening in the society.
He asked to uphold virtues of self-control and contentment, wisdom, hard work, regular prayer, time conscious and good companionship.
In her speech, the President, Mothers’ Union, Women’s Guild and Girls’Guild Province of the Niger and Diocese of Awka, Mrs Martha Ibezim lamented that in the present society, the life of a girl child is endangered and the church is working hard to direct their paths in ensuring the girls fulfilled their destinies.
The Chaplain, Diocesan Girls Guild, Venerable Chris Ogbodo noted that the church is preparing and equipping the girls to have a brighter future, advising them to remain focused and always get themselves actively engaged in something productive.
Correspondent Amaka Chibuzor Okoye reports that special prayers were offered by Most Reverend Ibezim while thanksgiving also featured in the service.
