On Thursday night, an intruder shot an eight-year-old kid and his father twice at their house in Emona, Tongaat in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), a private security company, reported receiving a call for help at at 23:08.
The eight-year-old was discovered upon arriving on the floor of his home. His left leg received two bullet wounds. His 32-year-old father suffered two gunshot wounds to the right hand.
Prem Balram, a spokesman for RUSA, stated that it had been shown the victim had heard a knock at the door. Multiple bullets were fired as he got close to the entry, breaking through the aluminum door to hit the guy and his son.
“According to the victim, three suspects forced their way into their home. Two of the robbers brandished firearms and demanded valuables. They stole four cellphones, shoes and R50 in cash before they fled.
“The injured man and his eight-year-old were treated for their injuries at the scene before being transported to hospital by ambulance.”
