BBC Scraps Top Gear Series 34 After Investigation into Andrew Flintoff’s Accident

The BBC has decided to cancel the latest series of Top Gear after completing an investigation into an accident that occurred in December 2022, which injured one of its presenters, Andrew Flintoff.

The statement added that given the circumstances, it would be inappropriate to resume making series 34 of Top Gear at this time.

However, the BBC plans to decide how to continue with the show later this year.

The production team has also been affected, but the BBC will continue to support them.

Finally, the show will undergo a health and safety review per the BBC’s procedures.

Andrew Flintoff, known for his England cricket heroics, was taken to hospital after the accident at the Dunsfold Aerodrome, where the Top Gear show’s famous track is located.

Although The Sun reported that Flintoff was behind the wheel during the crash, a source told the paper that his injuries were not life-threatening.
