In what is thought to be a quarrel between rival motorcycle groups, violence erupted on the streets of a peaceful West Sussex town, leaving one man stabbed and two others bruised and bleeding.
Witnesses claimed to have seen three motorcycle club members being assaulted in Findon Valley, close to Worthing.
The motorcyclists had earlier traveled through Brighton on their way to Surrey in the west.
They stopped at Findon on Saturday night after being separated from the rest of the gang, and it’s thought that’s when they were assaulted by members of another motorcycle club.
Seven males have been detained, according to Sussex Police, in connection with the incident on the A24 at approximately 1930 on Saturday night, which left one man with critical stab wounds.
Joanne Denise wrote on Facebook that she and Mike had recently passed an accident in the Findon Valley, where three poor mans on motorcycles had been hurt.
“I saw automobiles and a van that people were hopping into and driving off in.
‘We gave two of them first aid until the ambulance came (they appear to be well, thank heavens), and Mike controlled traffic until help arrived.
Many wonderful folks contributed.
“If you observed anything, kindly call the police.”
The mans were traveling from Surrey with the Surrey Vikings, who we could see in the front, according to a phone conversation I had with one of their wives.
Officers found a man with stab wounds when they arrived at the scene, according to a Sussex Police spokeswoman.
Two other males had also been beaten.
When the suspects fled the area before the arrival of emergency services, colleagues from the Warwickshire and Thames Valley police made seven arrests.
The seven males that were detained are still in jail, and investigations are ongoing.
