The Anglican Bishop of Ogbaru Diocese Right Reverend Prosper Amah has blamed the high rate of ritual killings in the society on poor parental upbringing.
In a sermon at the Basilica of saint James the great cathedral Atani during the rededication service for members of the Diocesan Women’s Guild and Girls Guild, Bishop Amah expressed disgust over the get rich quick syndrome among the youths.
He regretted that many families are presently in distress because of the in ability of parents to perform their responsibilities and called on Christians to desist from celebrating those who made it through unlawful means.
Bishop Amah who spoke on the topic freedom through Jesus Christ, charged the faithful to make Christ their cornerstone in order to defeat all evil machinations against them.
He charged parents to always invest in the education of their children especially the girl child in order to secure a bright future for them.
The Ogbaru Diocesan Bishop who cautioned members of the girl’s guild against indecent dressing, advised them to always aspire to be role models.
The president of the Women’s Ministry in the Anglican Diocese of Ogbaru, Dr Uche Amah who harped on the need for a collaborative effort between husband and wife in child upbringing, cautioned parents against making uncomplimentary remarks before their children.
The service featured special prayer for the Nation, Anambra State and families in distress.
