Boeing aims to eliminate approximately 2,000 positions from its finance and human resources divisions in 2023, according to the firm.
Boeing stated in a statement on Monday, “We anticipate approximately 2,000 reductions, primarily in Finance and HR, through a combination of attrition and layoffs.” “Although no one has been informed of a job loss, we will continue to share information in a transparent manner so that individuals can plan.”
The corporation, which just relocated its headquarters to Arlington, Virginia, stated that it anticipates a “substantial expansion” of its employees during the year. The statement stated, “Boeing’s workforce increased by 15,000 last year, and the company plans to hire an additional 10,000 engineers and manufacturers this year.”
According to the corporation, Boeing has 156,000 employees as of December 31, 2022.

Boeing, one of the top private employers in Washington state, will outsource around one-third of the lost employment to Tata Consulting Services in Bengaluru, India, according to the Seattle Times.
Mike Friedman, a senior director of communications, told the Times that the company’s reductions in finance and human resources support services will result in the elimination of the remaining positions.
Some of our company functions have grown rather significant over time. And with this increase typically comes bureaucracy or separate, ineffective systems,” added Friedman. Therefore, we’re streamlining.
The Times estimated that around 1,500 of the company’s approximately 5,800 financial employees will be eliminated, along with up to 400 human resources positions, or approximately 15% of the department’s entire staff.
