Boitumelo Radiopane, a rising star for the Orlando Pirates, won two awards at the PSL Awards ceremony on Sunday night.
The 20-year-old attacker was one of two Buccaneers strikers in contention for major prizes on the night, alongside Kwame Peprah, who was nominated for the DStv Premiership Young Player of the Year title.
Radiopane’s achievements in the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) earned him top honors over some of the country’s most promising new talents.
The Bucs Reserves’ standout was nominated for the DDC Player of the Season award, where he faced off against Mduduzi Shabalala of the Kaizer Chiefs.
His remarkable season, in which he set a Reserve League record by scoring 24 goals in 27 appearances, guaranteed that he was rightfully chosen the best player in the tournament.
Radiopane, who came off the bench for the First Team on a few times, was also named the DDC Golden Boot winner, collecting the award for the second season in a row after being a joint winner in the short 2021 campaign.
With nine goals separating him from the second-placed player in the goal-charts, scorer’s the Bucs striker was able to put some distance between himself and his closest contender for the top goal-scorer award this time around.
