Brazilians host Western Cape for bragging rights

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies have been in beast mode so far in the Hollywoodbets Super League, winning 15 of their first 16 games.

On Sunday, the scorching Brazilians will host the University of the Western Cape in an exciting matchup for three points and bragging rights.

Although Sundowns Ladies have had a remarkable run, their rivals have also had a solid start to the year. This season, the Capetonians have won 11 games and lost only two.

Sunday’s match is very important since Thinasonke Mbuli’s squad is the only one to defeat Sundowns Ladies this season in the league.

Coach Jerry “Kappa” Tshabalala has supported his team to display their grit as the games are coming thick and fast because of the forthcoming 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League.

“The next weeks will be very difficult for us, therefore we need to psychologically prepare for the overwhelming job. We will be better prepared for the CAF Women’s Champions League after these challenging games.

We have enough of relaxation and energy, so we don’t have any justifications for the next weeks. No matter the situation, champions are always prepared to defend their badge, according to Kappa.

Coach Jerry also brushed off any ideas of a vengeance mission and encouraged his team to continue playing football according to their well-known attacking mentality.

“Our opponents have a strong strategist at the helm, so we anticipate a very challenging game. Their standing on the leaderboard also demonstrates how reliable they have been throughout the season.

They are among the league’s most fearsome teams when comparing weight for weight. However, we are prepared for them and will send out our best offensive squad for this crucial match, according to Coach Jerry.

Since the disappointing COSAFA final result, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies have gone undefeated, scoring 23 goals and allowing only one goal in five games. Coach Jerry thinks his squad is prepared for the forthcoming games against clubs competing for the league championship as a result.

“We will play Ma-Indies and TUT FC after the match against UWC. We are excited about the potential of strengthening our championship defence since these games will ultimately determine our character.

These are by no means simple games, but they are the ones we look forward to the most. Kappa said, “We’re going to take them one step at a time and hope for the best.

Banyana Ba Style defeated their opponents twice in a row last season, although both times they encountered fierce opposition, winning by 1-0 scores in both the home and away games.

On Sunday at the Tuks Stadium, there will be a match between Mamelodi Sundowns and the University of the Western Cape (UWC) Ladies. The game is scheduled to begin at 11:30.
