Brendan Gleeson stars in ‘Joker: Folie A Deux’ with Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga

In “Joker: Folie A Deux,” veteran actor Brendan Gleeson will feature opposite Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, who play the clown prince of mayhem and his primary squeeze, Harley Quinn.

Todd Phillips, who directed Joaquin Phoenix to an Oscar for “Joker” in 2019, returns as the film’s director.

Variety says that “A Star Is Born” is more in the manner of “West Side Story” or “Singing in the Rain” than “A Star Is Born.”

Warner Bros. and DC are supporting the sequel, which has a lot to live up to considering “Joker’s” $1 billion-plus profit.

While much of “Joker: Folie à Deux” remains a mystery, fans may rest assured that the flicks will remain within their own universe.

That means the picture will likely have no connection to the DC Extended Universe depicted in the “Justice League” flicks starring Ben Affleck as Batman or this year’s “The Batman” starring Robert Pattinson.

In addition to “The Banshees of Inisherin,” in which he reunites with the “In Bruges” team of Martin McDonagh and Colin Farrell, Gleeson recently portrayed Donald Trump in “The Comey Rule” and starred in “Macbeth.”
