Bryan Cranston: “There Was Some Talk” About A “Malcolm In The Middle” Movie

There have been discussions about reuniting the Malcolm ensemble, according to Breaking Bad actor Bryan Cranston, who portrayed Hal in the classic family sitcom Malcolm in the Middle.

In an interview with E! News, Cranston stated, “There was talk about the potential of making a Malcolm in the Middle reunion film. We had such a beautiful family on it, and I would be open to the possibility if a good idea arose, such as, “Oh, it would be fantastic to see what happened to this family 20 years later.” I can’t believe it’s almost that time, but that sounds like a nice activity.”

Cranston’s tenure on Malcolm launched his career and resulted in three Emmy nominations. On Breaking Bad, he portrayed the teacher-turned-drug-lord Walter White, for which he is now best known.

From 2000 through 2006, Malcolm aired on Fox and centered on the Wilkerson family. As the parents of five children, including Francis (Christopher Masterson), Reese (Justin Berfield), Malcolm (Frankie Muniz), Dewey (Erik Per Sullivan), and Jamie, Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek ruled the family (James and Lukas Rodriguez).

Muniz, who just stated that he will be a full-time NASCAR driver in the upcoming season, has also discussed a revival, stating that Cranston was pondering over ideas for the script.
