An angry bull has been shot dead after being seen running towards a father who was dropping his daughters off at school.
The incident took place at 8:50 am on April 20 in Wells Avenue, Cheshire, where police were called after receiving calls about a rampaging bull in the area.
Despite attempts to calm it down, the bull remained agitated, forcing officials to shoot it dead.
The area was put under lockdown as a result.
The incident
The bull had apparently broken free from a nearby slaughterhouse located around the corner from the man’s residence.
Mr. Lumb, the father, said that the bull clattered past them on the pavement while he was leaving the house to take his daughters to school. He was just able to get his girls back in the house when the bull turned and charged through the hedge towards him.
The bull then chased him around his car and nearly missed him.
The authorities’ actions
Despite efforts to calm the bull and capture it, the animal remained in distress, and officials had to shoot it dead.
Mr. Lumb said that the animal was clearly in distress, in an unfamiliar environment, and in a state of panic.
He emphasized that there was a lot of effort to calm and capture the bull before officials had to shoot it dead.
The anonymous bloke who had a run-in with the bull also hoped that the police would take the matter further with whoever allowed the animal to escape.
Commentary
This is an unfortunate incident where a rampaging bull caused chaos in a residential area, posing a threat to the residents.
While it is commendable that the authorities tried to calm and capture the bull, the situation required immediate action, and officials had to take the necessary measures to protect the residents’ safety.
Such incidents are a reminder that we must take extra care while handling animals and ensure that the necessary precautions are in place to prevent such events from happening.
