Cardi B is shocked by the Miss Universe results

Cardi B may be a proud American citizen, but the Houston-native rapper did not celebrate R’Bonney’s victory as Miss Universe.

Instead, the artist was cheering for Miss Dominican Republic’s runner-up, Andreina Martinez, to win.

R’Bonney named the 71st Miss Universe winner at a magnificent ceremony held in New Orleans. The runner-up was Miss Venezuela, Amanda Dudamel, while the second runner-up was Miss Dominican Republic.

Cardi B commented on the Miss Universe competition on Twitter, focusing on the top three contestants: the United States, Venezuela, and the Dominican Republic.

Cardi B was born in Manhattan, New York, but her parents are immigrants from the Dominican Republic and Trinidad, respectively.

She posted, “Miss Dominican Republic…PLEASE GOD.” Cardi’s dreams were dashed, though, as the United States was declared the winner.

The artist conveyed her astonishment and surprise at the results with a meme of herself.

Miss Universe R’Bonney: Did organizers also rig her Miss USA victory?
