The Chairman of All Soludo Support Group and member of the eighty-man Transition Committee, Chief Chinedu Nwoye has extolled the ingenuity of Gov Willie Obiano and the ABS management in setting up a film village at the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Awka.
Chief Nwoye, who spoke shortly after a tour of the project site, said it will boost tourism, entertainment and education through Nollywood and other platforms.
He however suggested, that apart from film making, the creation of areas where people could come and eat local delicacies on daily basis, will facilitate return on investment.
Chief Nwoye, expressed optimism that the incoming administration of Professor Chukwuma Soludo will show interest in the film village project, pointing out that it is an agenda under his manifesto.
He further said that the idea can be expanded to have an Igbo Academy, where Igbos in the diaspora and other tourists would be tutored on Igbo values, proverbs, and other cultural heritage that appear to be going into extinction.
Earlier, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Dr. Uche Nworah who conducted Chief Nwoye round the project site, explained to him all the ideas behind the project.
