After colliding with another motorcycle during the Bennetts British Superbike Championship race, Chrissy Rouse died.
On the first lap of the race on Sunday, Mr. Rouse, 26, fell and was “unavoidably hit” by another rider. He had a severe head injury.
The rider had an urgent neurosurgery treatment after being put into a medically induced coma.
The family was at his side when he quietly passed away on Thursday afternoon, according to MotorSport Vision Racing (MSVR).
As part of their investigation into the terrible incident, MSVR is collaborating with the police, the coroner, and the Motorcycle Circuit Racing Control Board.
At the third Bennetts British Superbike Championship race on Sunday at Leicestershire’s Donington Park, Mr. Rouse collided.
After his crash, the race was promptly halted, and the BSB Medical Team attended to him trackside.
After being put in a coma at the circuit medical center, the 26-year-old contender was later brought to Queens Medical Center/University Hospital in Nottingham.
Shortly after being admitted, Mr. Rouse had an urgent neurosurgery treatment and later passed away from his wounds.
In order to cope with their “devastating loss,” his family has expressed their “deep thanks for the love and good wishes that they have received in recent days” and requested solitude.
The family expressed their gratitude to all the marshals and medical staff who attended to Chrissy with such competence and care, according to MSVR.
In order to fully examine the facts of this unfortunate tragedy, MSVR is now collaborating with the Coroner, Police, and the Motorcycle Circuit Racing Control Board.
