A pedestrian was murdered and seven persons were injured, one of them critically, in a collision on the M4 Ruth First Highway near the Blue Lagoon region of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
On July 27, a Thursday in the afternoon, the incident took place.

When paramedics arrived on the scene, a Renault Triber that had overturned was taking up the entire width of the road, according to ambulance service Emer-G-Med.
Upon closer examination, it was discovered that seven of the car’s occupants had been hurt, one of whom had suffered a critical head injury.
Paramedics trained in advanced life support allegedly worked tirelessly to stabilise the patients before transferring them in ambulances to neighbouring hospitals for additional treatment.
“A man pedestrian who had fatal injuries was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived.
It’s thought that the man was hit by the car, which then overturned, as he tried to cross the roadway.

Emer-G-Med paramedics arrived to the scene of a collision involving a light delivery vehicle on the N1 north in Roodepoort, Gauteng, following the 14th Avenue off-ramp.
According to accounts from the site, the light delivery vehicle exited the road, turned around, and came to rest on its roof, according to Emer-G-Med.
Two of the three injured victims required advanced life support to stabilise them before being taken by ambulance to one of the neighbouring hospitals for additional medical attention.
