Last night, Wednesday, January 25, a motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a vehicle in West Gladstone.
According to preliminary information, a blue Holden Commodore vehicle hauling a small box trailer was travelling east along the Dawson Highway at Far Street about 7 p.m. when it collided with a black Harley Davidson motorbike travelling in the same direction.
The rider was given immediate first aid by the driver and numerous spectators, but the 61-year-old South Gladstone man died at the site.
The vehicle’s driver, a 51-year-old Beerwah man, and a female passenger were not harmed.
The Forensic Incident Unit is asking witnesses, particularly those with dashcam footage of the crash or the minutes before it, to come forward.
