Cooranbong Workplace Tragedy: Tradie Hospitalized after Gyprock Accident

A tragic incident occurred at a Cooranbong worksite outside of Newcastle, where a tradie was crushed by a 100kg piece of gyprock.

The accident prompted a swift response from paramedics and a Westpac rescue helicopter, which transported the injured worker to the hospital shortly before 11 am.

According to NSW Ambulance Inspector Jennifer Potter, the man was working with the heavy gyprock when it fell on him, causing concern for possible leg and spinal injuries.

As a precaution, paramedics applied a neck collar and transported him to the hospital for further assessment.
