Customer punches Woolworths worker in Toowoomba’s Clifford Gardens location

After attempting to throw a client out of the shop, a young Woolworths employee was beaten while on the job.

Just after 7 o’clock on Friday, the incident happened at the Clifford Gardens Woolworths in Toowoomba, which is west of Brisbane, after witnesses claimed to have seen a customer tossing alcoholic beverages inside the shop.

The 19-year-old Woolies employee then asked the client to leave while pointing toward the exit, as seen on camera inside the shop.

The consumer was then shown on camera returning to the self-service checkout area and striking the adolescent again across the face before fleeing.

A other client who was closely observing the situation from the self-service area instantly hurried up to the Woolies employee to attempt to save her.

The teenage employee suffered a facial injury, and Queensland Police stated that they were looking into the incident.

The incident was reported to Queensland Police, who have the authority to issue restriction letters to certain customers prohibiting their re-entry into the establishment.

Woolworths condemned the client’s abuse of the young employee.

According to a Woolworth spokeswoman, “There is no place for this type of aggressive behavior anyplace in our community.”

“Our team members deserve to be treated with respect at work since they give their all to serving clients.

We have taken efforts to prevent the client from visiting the business again since we don’t condone abuse under any circumstances.

Police are said to be familiar with the customer, therefore anybody with knowledge is requested to come forward and support the investigations.

Social media users were outraged by the video and posted comments criticizing the customer.

One person commented, “What a horrible society we live in when a store worker cannot go to work without being attacked.”

How pitiful is it, said another person.

A third person said, “How terrible when individuals can’t even perform their jobs without being insulted.”

Nonetheless, several individuals immediately applauded the fellow customer’s intervention.

One person commented, “Can I just say.. nice on the customer stepping in and assisting.”

Another person said, “The bloke who stepped in however.”
