The responsibilities assigned to Deputy President Mashatile include serving as the Leader of Government Business in the National Assembly, fast-tracking land reform, coordinating government programs for land reform and agricultural support, implementing rapid response interventions on service delivery, and troubleshooting service delivery hotspots.

Additionally, Mashatile will assist the President in rolling out the District Development Model, lead the South African National AIDS Council, serve as a special envoy on South Sudan, lead peace missions on the continent, and chair the Governance, State Capacity, and Institutional Development Cabinet Committees.

 Supporting Staff in the Deputy President’s Office

To support the Deputy President in executing the functions of the government, Mduduzi Mbada will head the administration duties of the office.

Chief Directors Melene Rossouw and Vukani Mde will serve as Spokesperson and Communication, while Lerato Ntsangani will be responsible for Strategy and Special Projects.
