The Lions, who are still looking for their first win of 2022, will take on eight-time champions Leinster at the RDS Arena on Friday evening.
The Lions had previously revealed their travel team, which included a high number of players who played in the Sharks’ 43-31 Currie Cup loss at Ellis Park.
Emmanuel and Vincent Tshituka, two loose forwards, were originally scheduled to travel with the party, but it has since been announced that they will not be able to do so due to “unforeseen circumstances” with their travel permits.
Lunga Ncube will serve as a backup for the squad in Dublin.
The Lions are currently 14th on the URC table
After four defeats in a row, Lions coach Ivan van Rooyen recently admitted the team needs to make big changes if they are going to avert a horror first season in the United Rugby Championship.
“There’s stuff that’s improving on a weekly basis and then there’s stuff that’s not improving,” Van Rooyen admitted.
“Sometimes it’s a system-based thing that’s holding you back, but on other occasions, you need to sit back and assess whether it’s a coaching or a player element.
