Downing Street Condemns Cardiff Rioting Following Tragic Crash as ‘Appalling and Unacceptable’

In response to the overnight scenes of rioting in Cardiff following the deaths of two young boys in a crash, Downing Street has labeled the events as “appalling and completely unacceptable.”

The Prime Minister’s official spokesman, on behalf of Rishi Sunak, expressed deep concern over the disorder, violence, arson, and attacks on police officers.

Gratitude was extended to the emergency services and first responders for their support in restoring order to the community.

South Wales Police echoed the sentiment, denouncing the level of violence as “totally unacceptable.”

Property damage, vehicle destruction, and injuries to police officers occurred during the incident, which continued until the early hours of the morning.

Assistant Chief Constable Mark Travis expressed condolences to the families affected by the collision and the ensuing disorder, emphasizing that such scenes were not expected in close-knit communities like Ely.

Numerous calls were received from frightened residents alarmed by the actions of the large group intent on causing crime and disorder.
