The decapitated and legless body of a five-year-old albino kid was discovered in the eastern region of South Kivu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo on Thursday, officials said.
Archimede Karhebwa, a local government official, said that the youngster was discovered on Wednesday in the Kalehe region of South Kivu, a province bordering Rwanda and Burundi.
The boy’s head and legs were missing when his body was discovered, he claimed.

Since 2009, according to Juvenal Lushule, who works for an albino association in South Kivu, 18 albinos have been slain under identical circumstances in the region.
