Duchess Sophie’s Regal Appearance at Buckingham Palace State Banquet
The Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie, made a sophisticated and elegant statement as she attended a lavish State Banquet to welcome the President and First Lady of South Korea at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday evening.
Opting for sustainability and glamour, Sophie, 58, chose to rewear the regal white Suzannah couture floor-length embroidered gown previously worn at her brother-in-law King Charles’s coronation earlier this year.
Completing her ensemble with an Anya Hindmarch silver Maud Clutch bag and Emmy London Charlotte Pumps, Sophie added extra flair with her favorite aquamarine tiara and diamond earrings.
The Wessex Aquamarine Tiara, a custom creation by G. Collins & Sons, holds sentimental value for the royal and was prominently featured at various royal events over the years.
At the glittering festivities, Sophie also adorned a blue GCVO sash featuring her Family Order and star. The banquet, hosted by King Charles and Queen, welcomed Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife Kim Keon Hee.
In his speech, the King acknowledged the 140th anniversary of Korea’s diplomatic relationship with the UK, highlighting the deep personal connections and affection between the societies.
The evening featured notable attendees, including members of the world’s ‘biggest girl band’ BLACKPINK.
Among the distinguished guests, the Princess of Wales, Kate, exuded elegance in a Jenny Packham white dress, adorned with Queen Elizabeth’s earrings and the Strathmore Rose Tiara.
Queen Camilla paid homage to her late mother-in-law with Queen Elizabeth’s ruby and diamond Burmese tiara, paired with a Fiona Clare red velvet evening dress.
Both Kate and Camilla donned yellow brooches, signifying their inclusion in the Royal Family Order, a distinguished honor bestowed by the monarch upon female members of the Firm. The evening celebrated not only diplomatic ties but also showcased the timeless grace and style of the royal attendees.
