A special delegation from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has arrived in Niger Republic following a mandate from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government.
The delegation’s primary objective is to engage with the leaders of the recent coup in Niger and work towards a swift resolution of the current political impasse in the country.
The ECOWAS has put forward a demand that the military rulers restore democratic governance in Niger within a week’s time.
