ABU DHABI, 17th May, 2022 (WAM) — The UAE National Human Rights Authority (NHRI) said the UAE is achieving excellence in human rights and advancing in all areas, including human rights, stressing that it has taken serious steps towards realising distinguished successes.
The election of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as President will drive the UAE toward progress and development, in line with the legacy of the Founding Fathers, it added.
The authority’s Board of Trustees then highlighted the valuable achievements of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the leader of the country’s journey of empowerment.
Maqsoud Kruse, Chairperson of NHRI, extended his most sincere condolences at the passing of the late Sheikh Khalifa, noting that the only consolation is the unanimous election of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed, a leader in human rights.
Kruse lauded the late Sheikh Khalifa’s decision to establish the authority, affirming the election of the UAE as a member of the UN Human Rights Council, as well as other related decisions, will help promote human rights.
