Emmerdale Star Karene Peter Quits After Only a Year
Karene Peter, who played the role of Naomi Walters, vicar Charles Anderson’s long-lost daughter in the popular ITV soap opera Emmerdale, has reportedly quit after only a year.
Her final scenes will be shot in the next few months, but there are hints that the door may be left open for her to return.
Time to Move On
According to an anonymous source who spoke to The Sun, Karene enjoyed her time on the soap but is now looking to move on and play different roles.
The source added that the door is not being closed on Naomi and that she may return “down the line.”
Naomi’s Dramatic Storyline
Naomi arrived in the village in July of last year and was involved in a dramatic storyline that saw Nicola King attacked by a gang of girls in a car park.
Although Naomi witnessed the attack, she did not intervene. However, she was later found innocent at the trial.
Naomi’s character was also romantically involved with Nate Robinson, but they broke up after she moved in with him and could not afford the rent.
She then moved in with Charles and his partner, Manpreet, where she was conned and had her heart broken by drug dealer Alex.
Naomi’s Background Story
Naomi’s character was born in the late 1990s or early 2000s.
Charles was not aware of her existence until 2021 when her mother Esme contacted him.
Esme had left Charles and tried to care for Naomi but was unable to do so due to her post-natal depression, so Naomi was put up for adoption.
Emmerdale fans will be sad to see Karene Peter leave the show, but they can always hope that Naomi will return to the village in the future.
