MAMELODI SUNDOWNS BEGIN NEDBANK CUP AGAINST RICHARDS BAY
As they say in internet talk, Richards Bay simply understood the assignment by taking us inside the camp during the week’s preparations.
The club known as the Natal Rich Boyz posted an emotive video the players and staff at work during the week. But it was not just a scene at the training, the footage was carried by the most emotive soundtrack they could muster.
The club’s players were singing a song in the background. It is hard to describe it all, you just have to hear it for yourself in the video below.
FULL MATCH DETAILS
As The South African had previously confirmed, the Nedbank Cup last 32 game will be kicking off on Friday evening. The venue will be Richard Bay’s home ground at Princess Magogo in Durban’s KwaMashu.
Kick-off is set for 18:00.
SUNDOWNS’ FEBRUARY FIXTURES: NEDBANK CUP, DSTV PREMIERSHIP, AND CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
It’s brutal at the top. The DStv Premiership champions will play seven matches in 24 days, with Al Ahly in the mix!
Anybody who watches the local game will tell you that Kabo Yellow have a big squad with the best talent in the country, with some struggling for game time. You can hear the words from Rhulani Mokwena or Manqoba Mngqithi telling the players at Chloorkop: “you will all get a chance to play guys, we have so many matches!”
Looking at the club’s upcoming match programme, which includes a trip Cairo to battle Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly, it is almost too much football.
No wonder Manqoba has repeatedly said the team doesn’t train, there is no time. It is all matchday after matchday with chill recoveries in between
