Facebook users can’t find brown snake hidden in Adelaide vineyard steps

Social media users were perplexed when attempting to locate a sly snake in a photograph of its makeshift grape house.

Monday in the Wirra Wirra Vineyards in McLaren Vale, south of Adelaide, a venomous young brown snake was photographed constructing a home out of a small crack in a set of stairs.

The vineyard contacted Snake Catchers Adelaide on Wednesday to remove the snake after other snake catchers were unable to do so the previous day.

The reptile catchers captured a snapshot of a brown snake peeking its head out of a burrow between leaves and mud and uploaded it to their Facebook page, where it perplexed users.

I can only see bricks, dirt, and leaves. Please assist me and tell me where it is,’ another person wrote, unable to locate the snake.

Another user said, “I went to spec savers, but I still couldn’t see it.”

It took considerable time to remove the snake from the frequently used staircase by vineyard employees.

Ange Broadstock, a snake catcher, told AdelaideNow, “It took some work to get him out, but now the staff has their stairs back and they’re happy.”

“It is safe to say that they will refer to us (Adelaide Snake Catchers) in the future.”

Even though they are less hazardous than their elder counterparts, young brown snakes nonetheless employ a neurotoxic venom that assaults the nerve system.

A Brisbane father of two in his sixties died just over a week ago after being bitten by an eastern brown snake.

Typically, brown snakes are active in Adelaide from September to May, however this year their active season was delayed by around two months.

Ms. Broadstock stated, “He chose a winter location.”
