In yet another disturbing incident, a farmer in Wartburg, a small town situated 27km north-east of Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal, became the target of a farm attack.
The assault occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning, May 16.
Timely Response from Midlands EMS
Fortunately, Midlands EMS responded promptly to treat the injured farmer following the ordeal.
Dispatched just after 1am, Midlands EMS paramedics were on the scene to provide assistance for the farm attack.
Serious Injuries and Hospitalization
Upon arrival, paramedics discovered that the victim had sustained multiple injuries and was in a serious condition.
After stabilizing the patient, they transported him to a nearby hospital for further care.
Authorities were present during the incident.
Resurgence of Farm Attacks in KwaZulu-Natal
The occurrence of farm attacks and murders appears to be slowly increasing in KwaZulu-Natal, with Midlands EMS occasionally responding to such incidents.
In a recent case, Midlands EMS attended to a victim who tragically passed away on April 28, following an alleged altercation with an employee.
Investigation into Farmer-Employee Altercation
According to Midlands EMS, the farmer and employee reportedly engaged in a fight inside the house, leading to the fatal incident.
The exact cause of the altercation is currently under investigation by the South African Police Service (SAPS).
