After a deadly vehicle crash between Mount Isa and Cloncurry Friday night, the Forensic Crash Unit is conducting an investigation (February 17).
Early reports suggest that shortly before 11.30 p.m., a car with four passengers was travelling in the direction of Cloncurry on the Barkly Highway when the driver lost control and drove off the road.
The 17-year-old male driver was pronounced dead at the site of the accident.
A female passenger of 17 years old was transferred to Mount Isa Hospital in serious condition.
A second female passenger, age 17, and a male passenger, age 18, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation by the Forensic Crash Unit is underway.
