More than a year after the murderer of his three young children received full parole after only four years in prison, a Toronto dad committed suicide.
Daniel Lake, 9, Harry Lake, 5, and Milly Lake, 2, were killed in September 2015 by drunk driver Marco Muzzo, now 35.
Daniel passed away there, while Harry and Milly passed away simultaneously in a nearby children’s hospital not long after being pronounced brain dead.
He stated to the reporters at the time that when his eyes were closed, that was all he saw. It is impossible for this nightmare to end.
Edward reaffirmed his struggle with suicide thoughts during Muzzo’s sentencing and added, “Because of you, we now live with this misery for the rest of our lives.”
On Monday, June 20, Edward’s body was discovered. Age 49 applied to him.
His father-in-law and the grandchildren’s grandfather, Gary Neville, 65, died in the horrible collision that also took the lives of his children.
Neriza Neville, the children’s grandmother, and Joseina Frias, their great-grandmother, both survived the collision despite suffering serious injuries.
The automobile was being driven by Neriza Neville.
At the same time that Edward’s children’s life support was switched off, Jennifer Neville-Lake, Edward’s wife, claimed to have attempted suicide and experienced a miscarriage.
When Muzzo ran a stop sign in his Jeep Cherokee and t-boned the Lake family’s minivan, he had just arrived via private jet from his bachelor party in Miami. At a speed of more than 50 mph, he crashed into the driver’s side.
He claimed he consumed three to four drinks while flying. His blood alcohol content was about three times the permitted limit.
Jennifer Neville-Lake, Edward’s 16-year wife, announced on Facebook that Edward had passed away: “My children’s father, Edward Lake, has joined our kids so they can play together, forever.” Edward, thank you. “Mahal kita” is Filipino for “I adore you.”
The eyes he shared with Harry remain always closed, Jennifer added in the statement of her husband’s passing. I’ll never see Milly’s timid smile flit across Daniel’s lips again, nor will his curls sparkle in the sun.
‘This evening, I was very grieved to learn of the unfortunate passing of Ed Lake,’ stated York Regional Police Chief Jim MacSween in a tweet. The Neville-Lake family has suffered heartbreaking losses.
In his statement, MacSween reaffirmed the community’s support for the family.
Just before Edward passed away, Jennifer wrote on a different post on June 19: “Father’s day 2022.” This can’t possibly be true. It’s impossible. She included a picture of her children’s gravestone with her speech.
