A Texas mother of five was slain while protecting her 11-year-old daughter from bullies in the middle of the street in San Antonio.
Ashley Lopez, age 28, was involved in an altercation involving at least 30 people on January 11 evening when she began to dispute with another woman.
Pennie Gomez, 36, departed and got into a silver Hyundai Sonata before purposely driving toward the two ladies, killing Lopez and injuring the lady with whom she was fighting.
Someone observed that Lopez was beneath Gomez’s car and attempted to remove it from her, but Gomez sped off, dragging Lopez 20 to 30 feet.

Two passengers in Gomez’s car exited and returned to the scene to corroborate what they saw. Cell phone cameras captured the gruesome event, and two witnesses returned to the scene to corroborate what they saw.
Sunday, Lopez’s mother, Ana Blanco, posed a single question: “Why would you do this?”
When the fight broke out, according to Blanco, Lopez was defending her 11-year-old daughter from school bullies who had arrived at their home.
She and Lopez’s sister-in-law Andrea Mata believe that Gomez’s daughter resided with Lopez at the time in question, despite the fact that they do not know her.
According to our memory, [Lopez and Gomez] were not fighting. There was no ill blood between them,’ stated Mata.
Gomez is accused with Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. She is currently detained in a county jail on a bond of $251,000.
She was already wanted for offenses unrelated to narcotics possession.

Lopez’s family is attempting to raise funds for funeral expenses.
Gomez answered to a question regarding the hit-and-run by asserting her right to an attorney.
Blanco and Mata intend to attend the proceedings in an attempt to determine why Lopez was murdered.
At this time, they are collaborating with a local motorcycle club to generate funds for Lopez’s funeral.
Next weekend, they also plan to throw a BBQ fundraiser.
