A ‘guest behaviour problem’ at Movie World resulted in four persons being stranded on a ride ten metres in the air and needing to be rescued.
At about 4 pm on Sunday, the passengers were stuck inside the Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster ride at the Gold Coast amusement park.
After a small guest behaviour problem that caused a ride delay in the high zone late today afternoon, the Scooby Doo ride’s safety system was activated, a Movie World spokeswoman informed Daily Mail Australia.
Movie World summoned Queensland Fire & Emergency Services (QFES) to handle the rescue because to the elevated position of the standstill.
According to the spokeswoman, “The passengers on board were perfectly secure during the procedure and our experienced crew was in continual touch with them.”
QFES successfully discharged the four riders.
Movie World said that the health and safety of its visitors are its “top concern” and that “our crew regularly does training with QFES on similar situations.”
According to Queensland Ambulance Service, no one was hurt in the event, and paramedics were not summoned to the location.
A kid who injured his head on the Looney Tunes Carousel attraction at Movie World in April sustained severe injuries.
The enclosed roller coaster is known as Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster.
It is based on the 2002 live-action Scooby-Doo movie, which was shot in the studio next to the park when the ride’s construction was going on.
With a new ride plot and new special effects, the attraction reopened in December 2018 after undergoing a substantial theming upgrade in 2018. Its new name is Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster: Next Generation.
Observation from Movie World
Late this afternoon, the safety system for the Scooby Doo ride was activated as a consequence of a small guest behaviour problem that caused a ride pause in the high zone.
We enlisted Queensland Fire & Emergency Services (QFES) to handle the unloading procedure because of the stoppage’s location.
The passengers on board were entirely secure throughout the procedure, and our knowledgeable crew kept in touch with them. The four passengers on board were discharged securely.
Our crew regularly trains with QFES on these circumstances since the safety and well-being of our visitors is our first concern. We appreciate their help in this regard.
